Ramkhamhaeng University (RU)

Ramkhamhaeng University (RU), the country's first open-admission University, was established in 1971. The University strongly emphasizes the principle of equality of 'opportunity' regarding higher education. RU offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs as well as non-degree courses and international programs.

RU has for a long time offered its students two systems of instruction in the form of both on-campus and distance learning. RU also has set up an e-Learning Center to provide on-line courses, e-books and other materials via the internet, thus setting it well on the path to becoming the country’s very first e-university. RU also provides undergraduate degree program for students living overseas. RU sees itself as a global educational center striving to meet the needs of students across Thailand and the world.

As a result of its extensive experience, Ramkhamhaeng University is at the forefront of the trend towards distance learning in this country.
